Our story · Why we exist · Who built this

I built the practice I wished had existed for every patient I watched get left behind.

PureMed Centers was founded by a Special Forces medic and PA-C with one mission: make sure no patient leaves without a path forward.

Founder Story

Why I Built PureMed.

The Military Foundation

I started in medicine the way most people don’t — as a Special Forces Medical Sergeant in the U.S. Army. In that world, there’s no such thing as a patient without a plan. You assess, you treat, and you make sure whoever is in front of you has a clear path forward before you move on. Nobody gets left without care. That wasn’t a slogan. It was the job.

Civilian Transition & Credentials

When I came home, I went to PA school and built on that foundation — working through general surgery and emergency medicine, learning the full clinical picture. Then I moved into urgent care in Vermont, where I eventually took on both clinical and operational leadership roles. I saw medicine from the inside out: what good care looks like, what systems make it possible, and what gets in the way.

The Problem

And what got in the way, more than anything, was the gap.

Patients would come in with something urgent. We’d treat it. And then they’d leave — without a primary care provider, without a follow-up plan, without anyone to call if it got worse. They fell through the space between urgent care and primary care, two systems that should be connected but almost never are.

I watched private equity make decisions that prioritized margins over medicine. I watched insurance companies create delays that had nothing to do with clinical need. I watched good patients get lost in a system that wasn’t built for them.

That’s when I decided to stop working inside a broken system and start building a better one.

The Solution

PureMed Centers is what I built. An urgent care and primary care practice under one roof — and one screen — where the gap doesn’t exist. Where patients leave with a plan, not just a prescription. Where pricing is transparent, access is real, and the provider in front of you is actually invested in what happens next.

The standard of care I learned in Special Forces — thorough, fast, mission-focused, and never leaving someone without a next step — is the standard every patient in Vermont deserves. That’s what PureMed is built to deliver.

Credentials & Background

The Background Behind the Practice.

1

Special Forces Medical Sergeant — U.S. Army

Trauma medicine in the most demanding conditions in the world. Trained to deliver expert care fast, decisively, and with a clear plan for what comes next.

2

PA School — General Surgery & Emergency Medicine

Built a broad clinical foundation across acute, surgical, and emergency settings. Learned to handle whatever walks through the door.

3

Urgent Care — Clinical & Operational Leadership, Vermont

Led both the clinical and business sides of a practice. Saw firsthand how private equity decisions, insurance delays, and structural gaps hurt patients — and what it takes to fix them.

4

Founder, PureMed Centers

Built the practice that closes the gap — combining urgent care and telemedicine-first primary care under one brand, with transparent pricing and a patient-first model.

Mission & Values

What PureMed Stands For.

“PureMed Centers exists to ensure no patient is left without a path forward — delivering expert, accessible, and transparent care that bridges the gap between urgent need and long-term health.”

No one left without a path

Every visit ends with a clear next step. Urgent care is never just a transaction — it’s the start of continuity.

Radical transparency

Costs posted upfront. No surprise bills. No runaround. Patients deserve to know exactly what they’re walking into.

Expertise you can feel

Trained in the most demanding environments medicine offers. That depth shows up in every exam room.

Patients over paperwork

We left the system that put margins and admin ahead of medicine. PureMed is built around the patient, every time.

Built for This Community.

Vermont deserves a practice that shows up for everyone — not just patients with the right insurance or the right zip code. PureMed accepts major insurance plans, offers flat-rate self-pay pricing, serves veterans through VA disability exams, partners with employers on occupational health, and offers a concierge membership for patients who want a deeper care relationship. We’re also proud to serve the veteran community specifically. Having served myself, I understand what those who’ve served deserve — and PureMed will be a place where that service is honored in every interaction.
